Impact Stories
It all started with Ryan.
ÂMahj in the Moment was inspired by the life and legacy of Joanne’s son, Ryan. Through the Ryan Goldblatt Foundation, his family has turned love into action, raising funds for the medical institutions and charitable organizations that supported Ryan and his family throughout his courageous fight with cancer.
The Foundation’s mah jongg tournaments revealed just how powerfully the game can bring people together.
After losing her beloved sisters, Margot and Sheri, to breast cancer far too soon, Lizzy turned her grief into a passion for making a difference. Inspired by their memories, she became involved with Sharsheret, a national Jewish nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women and families facing breast and ovarian cancer. Lizzy now serves on the organization's national board.

Most recently, Lizzy coordinated a Sharsheret mah jongg fundraiser in Dallas, bringing women together through community, connection, and a shared commitment to a cause close to her heart.
